Who’s here after the top gun graduate air crash tragedy in Philly?
the original is better
😢❤❤❤❤
Actually both the original Top Gunn & Iron Eagle movies both came out in 1986, Flight of the Intruder came came out in 1991, 5 years after Top Gun
I think that Top Gun One wins hands down. No comparison. For starters, Top Gun 2 was too politically correct. Then things like Rooser being surprised that the F14 Tomcat's wings extended? Any kid that likes airplanes knows that, and on top of that his father "Goose" flew on the F 14. I can go on and on... Great shots, amazing scenery, Tom Cruise a great actor, but the original Top Gun for me is number one.
Ich liebe Tom Gun und der Film ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You’re old as fuck! ❤
Come on man. I know some Marines that are definitely not war fighters. Stop putting the pussy on the pedestal.
Yes happy birthday marines

He said Tom Gun!

FYI - The human Marine is irrelevant. Machines will do it all soon.
He was the shortest serving SECNAV in history- he blew a perfect handoff from John Lehman. A fascinating contrast in styles and effectiveness. I have no doubt he is a patriot of the first rank. The DNC should have listened to him.His party is lost.
Really enjoyed that!
This is wild. I literally could not imagine this

You can not move an aircraft carrier, unless you are @ your 31° to 33° mason...
Tom Cruise is literally the last movie star.
First of all - THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN OF OUR UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE! ❤ You are Heroes! Top Gun: Maverick was very, very well worth the 25 year wait from the original Top Gun. I watched Top Gun at the theater and fell in love with the Tomcat immediately. I have always loved movies that center around our Armed Forces. ~APRIL LIPKE
Total waste of time watching this slanderous liar
There was barely a story that spoofed other films such as the right stuff. Nothing was plausible. That Cruise does his own stunts doest make it a better film. There are plenty of true stories they might have modified or been inspired by. The flying was great. But, that’s it. Nothing else in the movie was plauseable.
As a matter of interest the only people who went to the Falklands and had a extensive real life experience of naval combat at sea were a group of merchant seamen in their late 50s and 60s, they had been at sea during WW2 when some were as young as 14, (one was sunk twice before his sixteenth birthday and once again before his eighteenth) this included the captain of the Atlantic conveyor, all volunteered again in 82 knowing how bad it could be, some were RN veterans who joined the merchant navy after the war some had been in the merchant navy during WW2 when they suffered a KIA rate of 25% and yes thats right 25%
Love this!
On the way back from the Falklands; some idiot decided to place Royal Marines on one deck and Parachute soldiers on another. They had punch ups between the two all the way back to the UK. Who says the British don’t have a fighting spirit!
The best movie ever. I am a pilot too and my best friend and crewmember Gerald died in the aircraft in 2019. We looked the first Topgun movie minimum 50 times and got connected with this movie. Now whenever i look this 2nd Edition i will be remembered to my best friend Gerald. The emotional level is so high when looking this movie that i always have to fight against tears. Thanks to all of you to make Gerald alive when looking this movie. Cheers Dirk
🫡 thank you for your service and so very sorry to hear about your friend. This movie as well as the first Top Gun are very inspirational. Once again thank you for your service. 🇺🇸
What a touching story. God bless you sir, and RIP Gerald
It is interesting to hear the opposing views about South Georgia between Brig. Macdonald and rear Adm. Parry. The RN wanted South Georgia for its deep water natural harbour (considered the best natural harbour in the Atlantic). As the RN was expecting to have to overwinter there, if retaking the Falklands took too long..
The book, A great white whale of a time during the Falklands war . Publications are being sold on various sites globally .The Author receives no due payments . The publisher , York Publishing services have denied the Author his deserved royalties , taking advantage of his conplex PTSD and senior years .
A brilliant book written by a SS Canberra crew member , A Great white Whale of a time during the Falklands war !. Brilliant . Google !,.
3:19 This bit went down like a bucket of cold sick. Must have been a fair few American one stars in the audience!
Tommy the punk cruise
The Sea Dart was a good missile the ships used with great success, we would of preferred the Sea Wolf but not fitted ...also the land defence missile the Rapier was not effective at all...as for thanking the French, they didnt shut the supply and training to the Argentinians straight away, that took a lot of diplomatic wrangling but im guessing he just didnt want to offend the French....
How Sir John Nott got a knighthood I'll never know, he was a complete imbecile
Great presentation but id suggest everyone to listen to other presentations and ones from the US as he left out quite a bit , but thats ok as if he put everything in from the other presentations it would take hours and hours to get through...
Seems to have acquired a very odd accent
Like others you missed the opportunity to add many interesting anecdotes. The highest ranking officer that was killed during the war was Colonel H Jones who led from the front, he died whilst attacking an Argentine machine gun implacement. There was close quarter hand to hand fighting with British soldiers fixing bayonets and attacking the Argentine trenches. Whilst processing the Argentine soldiers at the end of the war before they went home they found one soldier who had a body in his bergen (rucksack). it turns out that it was his dead brother that he was taking home to his family.
I can understand why a man who emigrated to the USA would speak well of the Israelis and the alleged US support but the only reason Weinberger was able to divert US stocks was because the UK already had an order into Raytheon who were about to start deliveries. It was basically a game of one for one missile shuffle. Not sure the Israelis had any idea and would never have agreed anyway. He was of course right about Kirkpatrick at the UN but there was also Haig batting for the Argies at State Department with Reagan defiantly neutral to keep his little deals like the Contras in place. Oh and the fuel supplies to Ascension? All bought on the open market. It just happens that the US was supplying most of the fuel at that time. We paid full market price. As for 'no AWACS'? Well not carrier ones but Nimrods were flying over the areas and over the fleet passing data down because they were refuelled by the same Victors that refuelled the Vulcan raids on Stanley from Ascension. 3 of the Nimrods are shown @ 22:14. We also had data from Norwegian satellites that were 'adjusted' from Antarctic surveys.
General Myatt was by CO in the 26th MAU.
The Argentine military was a classic example of style over substance. The British military was an example of style and substance. Hence the outcome of The Falkland War.
At some point, at the start of desert storm, CNN was on the beach when troops come in. And shot these men and women. The first thing I told my wife, why are they shooting this? And right after that I noticed the Tomahawk missiles fired and her guns firing inland, from the battleship New Jersey. We were on the front row. I never noticed such infringement of OPSEC.
